Obituary

Asheboro- Geraldine Chisholm Cranford, 88, passed away, Sunday, September 11, 2022 at her home. Born August 14, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Lacy Chisholm and Vandie Williams Chisholm.

Geraldine attended Asheboro City School in her youth. She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church until it closed. She did line work with Black and Decker until her retirement. Geraldine enjoyed planting, growing and tending to her flowers. She crocheted and knitted many afghans for her children, grandchildren and family.

Geraldine is survived by her husband of over 10 years, Allen Ray Cranford; son, James Gralen Cranford and his wife Cindy; son in law, Dan Routh; grandchildren, Tristan Routh, Devin Routh and his wife Liz Carter, James G Cranford II, and Marcella Storie and her husband Mitchell; great grandchildren, Macie-Leigh Storie and Montgomery Storie; and siblings, Charles Chisholm and his wife Florence, Bernell Hanford and Nancy Cox. Geraldine was proceeded in death by her first husband to whom she was married for over 50 years, James Wade Cranford; daughter, Dedra Lynn Cranford Routh; three brothers; four sisters; and her parents.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes to have donations made in Geraldine’s honor to Randolph Hospice in Asheboro.

    So sorry to learn of Gerry's passing. I worked with her many years at B&D, but have known her most of my life as I went to school with Dedra. We bowled in the B&D league together. She was a fine woman who dearly cherished her family. She will be missed.
