Obituary

Frank E. Pires, age 73, of Archdale passed away February 9, 2024 at The Randolph Hospice House. He was born December 24, 1950 in Augusta, Georgia the son of the late Katherine Weeks. He is also preceded in death by his son, John Robert Pires; and great grandchild, Lucas.

Frank served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps during Vietnam. DJ Frank’s talent extended far beyond his exceptional mixing skills. His infectious energy and great sense of humor ensured that everyone around him had a great time. He had a unique way of making everyone feel like an old friend, never meeting a stranger and effortlessly connecting with people from all walks of life. Through his music, he brought people together, creating memories that will last a lifetime. Most of all, he loved spending time with his large family and close friends. He will be deeply missed by all.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 46 years, Alice Pires; daughters, Angela Michelle Pires and Andrea Nicole Pires; son, David Shawn Pires; grandchildren, Shayna, Brittany, Juno, Brenna, Deshia, Aaliyah, Nathan, Jace, Rylan and Asher; great grandchildren, Kylianna, Kingston, Bailey, Raven, Catalina, Ember, Kaidence and Nyeli; brothers, Rodney Pires, Bob Pires and Melvin Weeks Jr.; sister, Cindy Lovett; and numerous other beloved family and friends.

The family will hold a private celebration of life at a later date.
